The project that became Soundtrack Incomplete began life many years ago when I first saw Pump Up The Volume. Great film, right? And especially, it had a killer soundtrack - but the best songs on it weren't on the official soundtrack disc. I spent years digging them all up.

I kept noticing this phenomenon. It seems to happen more often all the time, in fact. Not all the good songs from a film - not all the ones you want, ever - are on the soundtrack. Assuming that there even is one.

I still can't believe that there was never a soundtrack for Before Sunrise - to name just a single example.

One day, talking to some friends of mine, we got to saying that someone ought to do something about this. And I thought "Someone should. I think that someone should be me." The advent of the World Wide Web made it possible to provide the information cheaply and easily. And the wonderful Affiliate Program of Amazon.com makes it possible for me to cut out the middleman, too. (If you don't like Amazon.com, that's fine too. Feel free just to use the information anyway. This is as much a labour of love as it is a profit-making venture.)

So here we are. I've put a lot of work into this site, and so far as I know, it all works (except possibly for some of the dead links, but I check those pretty regularly to make sure they stay up to date). If you find some part that doesn't work, please let me know - and I'll fix it just as fast as I can. (Feel free to send me any other comments you may have, too.) If the movie you want isn't here yet, suggest it. I'll look for it. If and when I find it and add it, I'll even send you an email to let you know when it's added.

A disclaimer: There's always a few films that just don't provide sufficient information for me to include them, and the one you want to see listed might well be one of them. Rest assured, however, that most films do not fall into that category.

Along the way, Soundtrack Incomplete has mutated a little - I also offer the opportunity to buy the video tape and the DVD of any given film (assuming that they exist). But the basic mission of Soundtrack Incomplete remains the same as it was when I started:
If you're after obscure songs that weren't on the soundtrack, or you just want to get the one song you did like, you've come to the right place. Welcome.
